L'Arche Mobile Guidelines and Requirements
for Short and Long Team Volunteers
Prior to Long Term Volunteering:
Each prospective long-term volunteer must complete the following state standards requirements before volunteering at L'Arche Mobile. A long-term volunteer is someone that has direct contact with the core members on a daily or weekly basis for one or more months consistently. A long-term volunteer is not an employee of L'Arche Mobile.
1. Complete and turn in the results to the L'Arche office of a 1 step T.B. Skin Test. The cost of the test ($10.00) will be reimbursed to the new volunteer after he or she has completed the 30 day trial period. This process will take approximately 1 week to complete. If he or she has a current (with in one year) T.B. test a copy of the results will be accepted.
2. Complete a drug screening given by an L'Arche Mobile nurse.
3. Complete a Criminal Background & Sex Offender Check and a Motor Vehicle Record Check
Other Pre Volunteer Requirements:
Copy of valid driver's license

If a long-term volunteer is going to be alone with the core member(s) at any time they must first complete the following training:
1. Complete a CPR and First Aid class and provide proof that he or she attended and passed the class to the L'Arche office (A copy of the cards or a letter from the training center will be accepted as proof.) If he or she has current certification in CPR and First Aid a copy of their current cards will be accepted. The cost of the CPR and First Aid class (approximately $50.00) will be reimbursed to the volunteer after he or she has completed the 30 day trial period.
2. Aggressive Behavior Management (CPI/In-service)
