Job Discription for In Residence, Full Time, and Part Time Team Member/Assistant for L'Arche Mobile
A Team Member works with the supervision of both the Home Life and Practical Life House Coordinators.
A Team Member works cooperatively with all Team Members and Core Members.
A Team Member in the home cares for and builds relationships with Core Members.
A Team Member may live and work in the home or only work in the home.
A live-in Team Member lives with and supports persons with disabilities (Core Members) sharing life with them in a home where care of the Core Member and building relationships with the Core Member are the center of home life
A Team Member helps to facilitate the rightful order of the home, ensuring a high quality of life for the Core Members
Qualifications: • High School graduate or GED • Eighteen (18) years of age • Willingness to work with people with disabilities • Willingness to live or participate in Community Life • Ability to be certified in CPR, First Aid, and NCI • 1-step TB test, drug screening, criminal background and sexual offender check and driving record check
Supervisor: Home and Practical Life House Coordinators
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Maintains a calming presence in the home 2. Is familiar with the L'Arche Charter and the International Mission and Identity Statement 3. Meets with the Home and Practical Life House Coordinators, Director and/or Leadership Team as needed 4. Attends weekly Team Meetings with the Home and Practical Life House Coordinators and other Team
Members to ensure communication, planning and completion all required paper work
5. Cares for and supports persons with disabilities (Core Members) 6. Ensures special diets are followed and food served according to doctor's orders 7. Works with Core Members in fulfilling the objectives of their Long Range Plan 8. Stays abreast of Core Member weekly reviews 9. Attends Team Member formation and in-service meetings 10. Arrives on time for assigned tasks (a list of assigned tasks will be given to you by house coordinators) 11. Is a reference person for a person with disabilities, if applicable 12. Accompanies house on special community outings 13. Cares for the upkeep of the home, vehicles. and outside yard as needed 14. Drives community vehicles when authorized 15. Maintains all documentation 16. Works collaboratively with the Activity Center Team Members 17. Welcomes new Core Members and Team Members 18. If applicable, gives medications as needed while on duty and in emergency situations (training must be given by Nurses first) 19. Assists Core Members with cooking when assigned and with their other chores as needed 20. Learns about and ensures that Core Members are living the traditions of L'Arche 21. Supervises other Team Members as assigned by Home and Practical Life House Coordinators
